Question for all the kittie experts please??
I know with some dogs/breeds it is best to introduce the opposite sex into the mix when getting a second one. Can anyone tell me if this works the same with cats? Also do you think it is unfair to introduce a new cat that has his/her claws to one that doesnt? Cindy

Ahh Winston, you already know my take on this. Did you get the second PM? If your friend is at all interested let me know.
Age of cat already in the house would be a good thing to know. The claw thing IMO does not matter much if the resident cat does not bite to make up for it having no claws and the new cat is used to being around other cats. If they are going to get into a fight teeth work just as well. Sometimes better. Same or opposite sex is not as important as the demeanor of the cats. Of course the proper intros would still have to happen properly. |

Okay I was just not sure on the sex thing....male or female...
As for the calws I think we are pretty sure it has to be that way...The other kitty involved I am afraid is going to be very territorial. She bites me so I am 100% sure that she will bite....thats one of the reasons I am really trying to find a kitty on a trial basis in case it doesnt work out. We honestly think its best that she gets a friend because she is alone quite a bit but it may not work..she may not want another kitty in the house  Babymomma I only wish I had a secret! If I could figure out a way to get rid of DH I could have as many as I want! (oh my did I say that out load! ![]() )Truth is its for a very good friend who I cat sit for! Its the kitty that hates me! I dont know if you saw that thread..she truly hates me!
