A dog with some walking issues

I have a Brazilian Terrier, almost 11 years old. Recently he's had some issues walking. About two weeks ago he had woken up unable to walk straight. His legs would tremble when he stood up. He'd try to walk, and he was... semi-making it. He couldn't even use the bathroom properly, as when he lifted his leg he just began to tremble. This called for an immediate vet visit and they found nothing wrong with him, but they could see he had something wrong. At that point the Doctor told us it could be either he was poisoned by something, or it could be some neurological issue.

After a long stressful night, he seemed to be okay again the next morning. Functioning well. It had gone away that quickly. And came back this morning!

The doctors tell us that he may need neurological testing and I don't know if I need to put him through that. . Sorry If I'm very vague on the issue or put this topic in the entirely wrong place, just a little stressed atm.

Also I'm new and will do a proper intro after this o/

*shall update with more information as it comes in.*

Welcome to pets.ca bmz...sorry it's not under better circumstances.

Did the vets run any basic tests? Blood? Urine?
