Question Kittens Closed Eyes

Sir,

Our two kittens were born on 14th November 2004 ( Sunday). Today is 24th, 11th day. Their eyes are still closed. One kitten has one of its eyes open and other closed. The other one has both closed. How many days it would take for them to open their eyes. Is it a serious problem?
I am very much afraid.

Thank you,
Kitty's mother

It uaually takes 7-10 days but a few days longer may not indiacte any problems. You should look to see if the eyes seem to be pus-filled or sealed shut. If that is the case, open and clean them with a warm wet cloth and apply Terramycin ointment (avail @ pharamcies or perhaps even pet stores) until the infection clears up; If that does not help, then contact a vet. You may want to have the vet see them anyway to have a checkup after the first week anyway.

Kittens Closed Eyes

I read somewhere that long haired kittens take longer to open their eyes. Up to 2 weeks.
