Stitches after beign spayed

Hi,

My puppy was spayed on Friday, she is doing great. I have a question about the stitches though. How is her skin suppose to look. She a small incesion about 2 inches long (I am guessing here) then about 6 or 7 stitches again guessing she is not with me at the moment, but in between each stitch the skin is bubbled up, almost as if the stitches are too far apart and then pulled to tight. She does not bother with them but I am wondering if the skin will stay like that when the stitches come out. So it looks like a stitch, then a little bubble of skin(kind of like a blister filled with water) then a stitch and then again bubble. I dont know if this is normal or how it should look, can someone tell me if this is right. Again she does not seem to be in pain I can touch it and she wants to play and is back to normal.

If the skin is just 'tented' up, then it will relax and go back to 'normal' after the sutures are removed. When I hear the word 'bubble' though - I do get a little worried about fluid accumulation at the site which might indicate infection - especially if there is redness or discharge. You might want to have a quick recheck with your vet. Can you post a picture perhaps?

Also when sutures become too tight this is usually secondary to an unexpected level of swelling. You will see the sutures become tight and they may even cut into the skin a bit. If the sutures become tight - then I would recheck with your vet as soon as possible.
