Seeing those pics and knowing what you do for them just brings tears to my eyes. That and the fact that the fifth picture looks exactly like my Li'l Momma that I just lost . They are beautiful!
I love the little shelters you have made for them. I bet they were warm and cosy all winter in them. Wonderful job!! I think you have had some of these ones fixed, haven't you?
Thank you so much for what you do for these kitties!!

All these are feral. Strays do occasionally wander up but they usually wander off just as quick. The colony has been there for at least fifteen years or more. They live in a tract of woods behind my store, I've been there twenty-seven years. Through the years I have had help with them, a couple of people a year show up and volunteer. Some help for a while some I never see again. Right now I have two ladies, one older and one younger helping out. Though I haven't seen the younger one lately. Since right now I'm at the store seventy plus hours a week (damn economy) I'm able to keep a pretty close watch on them, something that most feral colony caretakers aren't able to do.

Most of the cats are spayed/neutered and rabies vaccinated. In some of the pictures you can see the left ear tip is clipped, this is done during the spay/neuter operation. This lets other feral/rescue people (and hopefully animal control) know that these cats are part of a TNR (trap neuter release) program.

Once a month some local vets hold a very low cost spay/neuter weekend for the local rescue groups. We managed to secure a couple of spots (not easy) two weekends ago and trapped and fixed two females and one male.

It has it's downside though, through the years I've had to take more than one sick/injured cat in to pts. Occasionally we're able to save one though and my vet helps to find homes for them when they are healthy enough. And of course I always worry like the dickins about them during inclimate weather, but they are pretty dang tough.

What you are doing is just wonderful
I am sure you have had many sad moments, where kitties are sick or wounded, but you are there to help.
Making sure no more babies are born is probably the most important ,I wish everyone would think like you and act,not just react.
Our HS also does TNR ,if someone manages to catch a feral cat,it is more humane than killing him/her for something they did not cause,it's people who cause cats to become feral to begin with
I cannot get over your pics, those cats are just beautiful, especially the Tortie and the longhaired kitty

Wow, what an amazing person you are, for all you do for those cats.
What an you are.

I absolutely fell in love with the cat in the second pic, if I lived nearby, I would adopt him/her in a heartbeat, it looks just like the cat my Nan had when I was a little girl.

Bless you for your committment to these beautiful creatures.

You are a wonderful person. Thank you for caring for them. You bring tears to my eyes. It is heartbreaking to know that they are just left, but they have you as their angel.

Thank you to all those that go above and beyond.
