Holy feathers! What are all those little birds swarming your suet feeder? Ours always take turns--I've never seen that many on a suet feeder at one time.

I finally got some pics of the chickadees at the feeder a few days ago, but I still haven't resized them. Procrastination is my middle name.

Great pics, TeriM!

Nice pictures of the birds. What is the name of the bird with the long beak?

I thought it was a woodpecker. But I don't know birds very well.

At least one is a junco--the one flying in at lower right--see the white outer feathers on the flared tail? If they all have those white feathers, then they're juncos--hard to tell, though, the way they're all crammed in like that Do you make your own suet mix or buy it? Whichever, it looks like you've found a tasty recipe!

Ooohh, I think you are right Hazel. I was just reading about them and it said they travel in flocks during the winter months and often mob feeders .

The suet is from wild birds unlimited and is the Christmas Cake which has rendered beef suet, roasted peanuts, almonds, pecans and cranberries.

That sounds almost good enough to eat! Obviously, the birds thought so, too!

Awesome!! I like the one where they just swarmed on the feeder!

I don't get to feed the birdies around here. Last thing I need is more birds hanging around my yard to get eaten by my feral kitties

There is a really weird tree in my neighbors yard that has berries on it all year long and the birdies always land on it and eat the berries and you can see it from my back window and the kitties are always like MEOWWWWMEW MEWMEWEMWMWWM and it's so cute

I love birds! I wish we would get them in the winter time here, but it just gets too cold and they are hiding in the forests.

I have a bunch of strays here. I feed them, but I've been feeding the birds for years as well and the cats get very few birds. They rarely even try.
