Rotti Ears

Just a quick question about a Rotti pup's ears. 1 has gone completely up and the other is on the way up. I know you can glue them down to get the correct shape. My pup is 3/4 Rotti and 1/4 Husky. I was wondering what the pro's and con's would be to allowing them to stay up or glue them down so they learn the correct Rotti position. I figure there will be less chance of ear infections with them up but it does look a little different not that there is anything wrong with that. I am prepared to clean his ear's regularly so infection should not be an issue. Are there any other issues I should be concerned with.

Thanks

I think his ears look cute and you don't need to do anything with him. I have a friend who has huskey's and her latest pup has one ear up and one down, it's too cute.

You pup is only half rottie, the other half is husky - which has upstanding ears.

Rottie owners tape wonky ears to help them learn to lay right. Even this is not a guarantee.

Personally - I think he is absolutely adorable as he is. My suggestion would be to leave them alone and let them do what they want to.

oh goodness.......he is adorable!!! I just thought I would add my experience. When I was little we had a cockapoo with floopy ears...and we had ear infections, when I got my girl I thought Whoo hooo ears up.....no infections. Nope not so, three ear infections so far. She gets them when water gets in her ears so I now clean and dry after rain or snow. So doesn't matter up or down, infections are a possiblity. Good upkeep on the ears up or down is what matters.

IMO, let the ears stay up if they want to! I thought Chase would have lab ears.....until one started sticking straight up! Now I'm glad it happened...it makes him unique!

Those ears are just adorable!
