Mini Daschund Question

Hello All!
I am new to this site and have a question regarding my new mini doxie. I have been told by his breeder that the last rib on each side sticks out until he fills out as an adult. Is this normal for the breed? I have a vet appointment set for June 1st and will be asking then, but I thought I would throw this out there for any takers.
Thank you so much!

Do you mean his ribs stick out like he's a little skinny? Depends on how much they stick out I guess. I know you want to keep dachshunds from getting overweight because of the strain on their backs.

Your vet will be able to evaluate the dog's body condition and let you know if it's okay or not.
