My female mini SChnauzer was bleeding rectally this morning. This is about 7 weeks after delivering puppies. But I have noticed that she continuously had bleeding or spotting I should say from the delivery forth. This morning the bleeding was profuse so I brought her to the vet. He said it's probably gastroenterities and has her on IV fluids and antibiotics for today and probably tomorrow , too. Can anyone reassure me that this is fairly common in Schnauzers and that she'll be okay. She is 1 year and 2 months old.

You should have her spay asap, please. Sorry I can't be better help. This is one more reason why people (outsie breeders) shouldn't breed.

Whoa! She is 1 year and 2 months old and has had a litter 7 weeks ago???? So on her 1 year birthday, your gift to her was puppies
Here is a link for Schnauzers in GA... homeless, waiting patiently for a loving home to adopt them! http://search.petfinder.com/search/s...ope=2&x=12&y=7 Please get your poor girl spayed, I dont want to come across harsh, but there are enough homeless dogs in this world, there is no need for anymore!

Your dog needs vet care immediately, which cannot be given over the internet.
