Ebby transformed

These pictures show Ebby from the time he was snatched last winter, with a huge abcess on his forehead, to this morning, sitting in the sun. Lucky Ebby! He is a little saint.

Ebby now, confident but goofy. He loves his mother, food and laser tag, in that order.

What a handsome shiny cat!!

My sister in TX adopted a feral cat that had an abcess. I'd never heard of it before, and yet here's another one that had one. Is that a fairly common condition?

Ebby was originally bitten on the cheek. Then the wound (which wasn't all that bad) became infected and the infection spread to his forehead and formed an abcess. I think it is probably extremely common among ferals, they are always fighting for territory or food. And since their immunity is usually low, the infection can become generalized and things end badly.
Ebby would definitely have died.
