The dog needs access to the water dish

Water dishes outdoors need to be dumped and refilled each time you are outside with your dog

Reason being other animals (rodents, birds, coons etc..) can drink or bath in the water...leaving behind bacteria, feces, virus and so on.

Where did you get your Newf from, let see a picture.

Use a really big pan for him to drink out of, and cut a square out of a vinyl tablecloth to put under it. This is one of the downsides to having huge slobbery dogs.

Bob's a bit of a messy drinker too. I put a welcome mat down in the kitchen and that's where we keep his food and water. Works pretty well.

This reminds me of something I've been looking for with no success. It was a plastic non-spillable water dish. The sides curve over toward the inside of the dish. It holds a good quantity of water (the woman had it in her SUV for her golden) and the water can't slosh out. The water just goes up the side and back down again into the bowl. Perfect for traveling! I haven't described it very well, but maybe you get the idea. She said she got it at Petsmart in the San Jose area, but the Petsmarts I've been to here in the valley have never heard of it.
