Swiffer Dry

If you, like me,use Swiffer Dry to pick up cat/dog hair off the floor and run out of cloths,Dryer Sheets like Bounce or even store brands work just as well and are much cheaper, just thought I'd pass that little tip along

I just have to say, I don't use them with my swifer but I do keep them for dusting in general. TV Screen especially.

For some reason used dryer sheets are Daisy and Chevy's favorite thing to "fight" with. Hilarious!!

Thanks for the suggestion. We have lots of dog hair on the floor sometimes, and I love the Swiffer Dry and scented Pledge wipes, but sometimes these things do cost too much.

An uncle of mine who has a great pyranies showed me a cool trick with bounce dryer sheets during mosquito season. take a new sheet, rub it on your dogs fur,
and then tie the sheet to its collar. keeps the mosquito's away, and makes your pup smell spring time fresh!

Wow, does that really work? It's a great trick! I'm from up north and if it does work, then that would be great for my mom's dog who gets attacked by MILLIONS of mosquitos and has to stay inside! Thanks, i'll be sure to try that with my dog - mosquito season has definetely started here in Ottawa!

I lived in Kap for a year when I was five, did my kindergarden at Diamond Jubilee school I think its called. We then moved to Timmins until '90 then we moved to the outskirts of sudbury. (Dads in the Gov. kept getting transfer's)

Yeah Diamond Jubilee is near (or in) KDHS High School. That's cool, nobody ever knows where Kap is, or Timmins... When people ask me where I'm from I start with Kap, then Timmins, and I usually have to go up to North Bay or Thunder Bay before they start to recognize the names of these towns - even though they are 6 hours away from Kap! There are ALOT of people from Kapuskasing in Ottawa! I think everybody is moving here

for humans (adult) use any bug spray with deet in it, don't use it on pets or young kids though as if they ingest it it can cause problems. as for using bounce on humans, i can't see why it wouldn't work here as well.

Not to keep professing the greatness of the west coast, but when I first moved out here my friend told me that there were no mosquitoes in BC. Well, for the first year I had no reason to think he was wrong. I swear I didn't actually see one for over a year. Having been out to the woods quite a bit since then, I now know they are around but not to the extent I used to see in Ontario.

Well, living in Halton, the hardest hit by West Nile,I take all precautions if outside at night,I am surrounded by cedar-hedges,a real hot-spot for skiters, change the bird-baths sometimes twice a day.On myself I spray deet, some of the new products are not sticky.I know of people getting sick from the virus and at my age will not take a chance.

I got an email recently about Bounce sheets and all the stuff they can be used for.... here it is...some good ideas actually!!! And YES it does work on mosquitoes!! WHEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!! The mouse idea really works too, we do that in our classrooms and at my parents cabin - keeps them away!!

Bounce Dryer Sheets -

US Postal service sent out a message
to all letter carriers to put a sheet of Bounce in their uniform pockets
to keep yellow jackets away.
Use them all the time when playing baseball and soccer.
I use it when I am working outside. It really works.
The yellow jackets just veer around you.

And all this time you've just been putting Bounce in the dryer!

It will chase ants away when you lay a sheet near them.

It also repels mice.. spread them around foundation areas, or in
trailers, cars that are sitting and it keeps mice from entering your
vehicle.

It takes the odor out of books and photo albums that don't get opened
too often.

Repels mosquitoes. Tie a sheet of Bounce thru ugh a belt loop when
outdoors during mosquito season.

Eliminates static electricity from your television (or computer) screen.
Since Bounce is designed to help eliminate static cling, wipe your
television screen with a used sheet of Bounce to keep dust from
resettling.

Dissolve soap scum from shower doors. Clean with a sheet of Bounce.

Freshen the air in your home. Place an individual sheet of Bounce in a
drawer or hang in the closet.

Put Bounce sheet in vacuum cleaner.

Prevent thread from tangling. Run a threaded needle through sheet of
Bounce before beginning to sew.

Prevent musty suitcases. Place an individual sheet of Bounce inside
empty luggage before storing.

Freshen the air in your car. Place a sheet of Bounce under the front
seat.

Clean baked-on foods from a cooking pan. Put a sheet in a pan, fill with
water, let sit o overnight, and sponge clean. The anti-static agent
apparently weakens the bond
Between the food.

Eliminate odors in wastebaskets. Place a sheet of Bounce at the bottom
of the
wastebasket.

Collect cat hair. Rubbing the area with a sheet of Bounce will
magnetically attract all the loose hairs.

Eliminate static electricity from Venetian blinds. Wipe the blinds with
a sheet of Bounce to prevent dust from resettling.

Wipe up sawdust from drilling or sand papering. A used sheet of Bounce
will collect sawdust like a tack cloth.

Eliminate odors in dirty laundry. Place an individual sheet of Bounce at
the bottom of a laundry bag or hamper.

Deodorize shoes or sneakers. Place a sheet of Bounce in your shoes or
sneakers overnight.

Golfers put a Bounce sheet in their back pocket to keep the bees away.

Put a Bounce sheet in your sleeping bag and tent before folding and
storing them. Keeps them smelling fresh.

I would imagine any dryer sheet would work. Some are cheaper then the
brand name.

Talking re-use those bounce sheets

okay how bout this, make new dryer sheets by putting them into a plastic container after you have used them. Fill to cover the sheets with liquid fabric softener and VOILA! pop one in your dryer either to use as a bounce sheet or just to make your clothes smell nice if they've been in your drawer for awhile

Laurie

ps you can use a rag or a facecloth as well.
