Adopted a Redbone Coonhound

Hello All!!

What a disappointment re: Dolly. We were disappointed as I am sure a number of other people were who were interested. In the meantime, we had also contacted a Canadian Hound Rescue. We adoped a gorgeous 3yr old Redbone Coonhound, his name is Redley. He is a sweetheart, fixed already, walks like a dream on a leash. His only quark is that he doesnt care of hardwood floors or linoleum at first he would splay out his legs like bambi on ice and shiver and shake, now he quivers slightly and will eventually make it across the floor, usually backward. Noone seems to know why, the family who gave him up had him for a year and a bit. They didnt try to get him over his fears. Redley was found on the side of the road with his brother. Assuming they were used by a hunter and either tracked an animal(s) too far or were abandoned.
Anyhow, he is cute, we want to help him over his fear, if anyone has suggestions, we are trying the coaxing with treats.. We find ourselves hopelessly in love with the beautiful creature. His eyes are the color of cinnamon.

Thanks

Kim

Persistance is probably your best bet. Play games with him in the offending surfaces, make him see how fun they are!

We love pics if you have any
