I have just been informed that, in an act of unbelievable cruelty, this cat's ears and tail were CUT OFF. His claws were also cut off to the bone.

Chance is a young male tabby about 8 months old who was left to fend for himself in January. .

Chance is sitting at the Laval SPCA, and they will kill him soon if a home or foster cannot be found. His suffering should not be in vain!

He is good with other cats and dogs and is quiet and cuddly.

OMG is there no end,I cannot even imagine what kind of monster would do this.....it would not be fair if he would get killed,after all he's been through.

I don't know Anita. Since Mr.Barnoti and the SPCA are using this cat to get into the newspapers and give themselves a little positive PR, I hope he is still alive.

I was informed this week that the Laval SPCA killed this gorgeous, purebred 2 yr old Himalayan. (pic below) His crime was to have one tooth that was protuding from his mouth, making him "unadoptable" to the powers that be.

We at Lucky Rescue were certainly going to take him. We have no foster care and can't take cats for a long term, but purebreds are very easy to rehome and this one would have been snapped up immediately.

However, when we called about him, we were lied to and told he had been adopted. I am just heartbroken about this.

Lucky,I can certainly understand how you feel,it's a crime and one that he gets away with every day and I think he still sleeps very well at night.
Chance might have a chance if his picture is in the paper,I did not know he was a the SPCA,I though he was in a rescue
Do you have direct contact with people working there?
I think I'll write him another letter,just to get him a little riled up again...
This cat most certainly would have been adoptable.

No, I never get hardened to it - in fact as time goes on I feel worse.

I just have to concentrate on the ones we CAN help and do get homes for, like Comet!

I"ve just been told that Chance has been adopted. I tend to think it might be true this time, as it would be hard to kill him after using him to get good PR for the SPCA.
