Shivering Dog

Our beagle has been constantly shivering for 24 hours. Yes, it is cold out but the house is at 68 degrees. Even when we cover him in a blanket, he continues to intermittantly shiver.

He is eating fine but seems to be too weak to jump up on the bed anymore. He seems to pant regularly.

We haven't noticed anything else unusual. Any ideas?

It is serious. It could be EXTREMELY serious.
Could be from a fever, allergic reaction, a bad cold. etc.

Don't wait- bring your pet in to see a vet. ASAP.

RE: Shivering Dog

Yes, we did end up taking the dog to the vet who found no fever. Turns out shivering is a sign of porbably a muscle injury...dogs can shiver in reponse to pain. We bundled him up, kept him quiet for two days and now he's his old self.
