Every time we euthanize any animal we are deciding to take a life. Method used in any scenario as long as done humanely and fast is no different in my honest opinion

The problem is most people see them purely as property and even laws are set that way. I don't think everyone has the right judgement to put down an animal. One thing is extreme suffering and there's a vet that could actually back the person up with real evidence that it was the only thing left to do and a very different thing is kill them just because you felt like it and still get away with it because it's your "property" even if you do it "humanely"
Why you do it makes a whole world of difference.
To me that will always be the last, extreme last resource. I'd try anything before that unless of course the animal is in a lot of suffering and no other way to stop it.

I agree with Golfields

I find the shooting of any animal disturbing. While I have personally have had to do it to a family dog many years ago, it still haunts me. She was hit by a car....I also lived on a farm and sick animals were dispatched with a single bullet by a rifle. If it was a sick old dog they were walked into the bush and tied to a tree and one bullet to the head. I always cried when this happened. But that was in the 70's. The moron owner is a TEACHER and she could have easily paid the $100 to put Buddy down. Cheap bitch. I think she also be charged and her animals seized. I hope she treats her kids a lot better that her animals. Anyone that cold just gives me the fnn willies.

I hope they take her other dogs and ban her from owning anymore but I doubt it.
In no way to I agree with what she had done, no way.
basically not wanting a dog anymore is not a reason to kill him.
Our society for the most part disposes of everything like a used tissue paper and that makes me ill.
She could have turned him over to the shelter in Sudbury, its a high kill shelter but atleast he would have a little bit of a chance and not suffered during that time with physical pain.
