Back to this thread, with the reminder that I changed Zara's name to Jarrah. I think Jarrah is going to give us plenty to laugh at. I asked her to get up on the bench beside me out in the garden and she couldn't leave it at that, she had to stand up with her feet on the back and take a look in the window behind us.
Well, she saw her reflection, didn't she? And mine, so then she had to look under the house, try to check out the bathroom window too, she just knew there was a dog in there somewhere. She still goes up onto the bench to study her reflection occassionally. ![]() The other thing she has learnt is that ripe mulberries off our weeping mulberry are delish! Yummmm! But, she keeps plucking ones off that aren't ripe, giving them a taste test, biting them in half and dropping them, and now Ian is worried he'll miss out on his mulberries and cream desserts. So, new job for me, I have to intervene and find the ripe ones for Jarrah. (sigh) Jarrah, last seen lurking in the mulberry bush.

Winston is correct! Jarrah is just keeping the mulberry-stealing birds from eating all the mulberries.
Ian should be encouraging her vigilance! ![]() She's s good girl!

Geuss what? You both might be right.
She nearly got a magpie that flew down into her tree this morning. LOL. As long as she leaves the blue tongued lizards alone when they come looking for fruit - but she won't! She's a hunter.

Hooray for Jarrah!!! She found a big Blue Tongue lizard at her mulberry tree today and only crept close to look and sniff, and was easily called off. Susie(R.I.P.) would have instantly grabbed and started crunching it up, ditto for Perkins. I tell her "Leave it!" when she creeps up the passage to look at our Persian cat and that's one order that must be enforced, for the cat's sake, and in case she ever comes accross one of our deadly Brown snakes. At least it worked with the lizard.
She's such a good girl.

GF, Jarrah sure looks sweet snacking on her berries - oh yeah, chasing away intruders.
