Lost, Gray w/white Tabby in East Vancouver, BC ~ cat found

Our short hair grey and white tabby cat is missing from the E.29th Ave and Rupert St area of East Vancouver since Aug 2nd. She is three years old and has a tattoo number AACS 167 in her ear. Her name is Josie and is approximately 9-10 pounds. No collar, likely scared (she was being babysat in this unfamiliar area).

Please call : ~removed~ ask for Brent

If you can bring her own litter box from your house to the house where she was being looked after & leave it out on the deck, and an unwashed shirt or a pair of shoes that you've worn and not washed and leave those also on the deck - the scent of her litter box or your clothing/shoes may help to guide her back to the house.

If you can go out around dawn or dusk and call her softly, bring some favorite treats or tap her dish, these are the more quiter times where she is more likely to come out of hiding.

She may also try to head home I hope you don't live that far away

Have you postered the neighbourhood as well as checking with the Van SPCA & any vet clinics or cat/dog grooming places in the area?

Good luck

We have been covering the neighbourhood with posters and also handing out lealets door to door (480 and counting...). I will be leaving her litter and
a pair of shoes outside tonight.....We live about 7kms away but are told that a cat could very likely cover that distance.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Brent

FOUND!!!!!!!! ALMOST 2YRS later. She was being looked after by a nice retired couple for the past year. They took great care of her and it wasn't until their daughter came to visit that they performed an internet search with the tattoo number, found this missing cat thread and tracked me down. All I can say is WOW!

Wow, that's amazing. So glad you got Josie back and to the wonderful couple who took such good care of her.

This is also something for others with missing kitties who are tattooed to bear in mind. Good idea to post the tattoo number. Many don't. If you hadn't posted it you likely would never have gotten her back.

Wonderful news beefster I'm so glad Josie was well looked after & that you've now found her

I've edited the thread title to reflect she's been found & now removed your phone number.
