700 cats and one rooster rescued in Florida

Animals (tags: cats welfare, cats rescued ) Penelope - 1 day ago - secure.humanesociety.org On June 7 and 8, our Animal Rescue Team assisted Alachua County Animal Services in the rescue of 697 cats and one rooster who were found living in horrific conditions in High Springs, Fla. Fortunately, these cats now have a much brighter future.

 Did a little more research http://www.gainesville.com/article/2...10609538?tc=crIt appears the daughter of Pennie & Steve Lefkowitz founder of "Haven Acres Cat Sanctuary" feels most of the cats will euthanized by Alachua County Animal Services  Many people were very aware that this couple was overloaded & overwhelmed yet still brought their "unwanted" cats there  The blame lies with them however the Lefkowitz's obviously need help as well.
