Ear Infection Update!!

So I took rex to the vet yesterday, and he said it is an ear infection.
So he gave me drops to put in his ears, but Rex will not stay still, so i put the drops onto a spoon and then drop it into his ears like that ( makes sense i hope) instead of doing them drop by drop.

Its been a day, and its still red, well... crusty with blood and a little discharge( i think it is anyways). HOw can i clean his ears up without hurting him ?! he is wearing his E- collar to prevent him from scratching.... any ideas?
