(I changed the thread title for you )

Seems everything white (pasta, rice, sugar) is bad these days...bad for us and bad for our pets. The more processed it is (by greedy humans who do not care about your health) the badder it is.

I too, am actively avoiding useless carbs these days. I started on January 1 and I've lost a good 7 pounds (I was about 10 lbs overweight) on dietary change alone.

And just yesterday I was reading an article of a kitten who almost died because his owners had him on a Vegan diet, which consisted of potatoes, rice milk and pasta!

I have slowly been changing my diet too, I have to say my dogs have a much better diet than I do But you know, I also think its not the actual foods, but everything we have done to it (pesticides, gmo's whatever else) I mean, for example back in the day people ate a lot of potatoes or rice because it was cheap and they didn't have all the problems we have now.

A few years ago I lived in a small town in Costa Rica while doing volunteer work, and one of the main meals was Gallo Pinto, which is a mix of rice and beans, almost everyday I had that once or even twice a day, plus lots of fresh fruits, by the time I came back to Canada I had lost weight and was feeling pretty good... and then there was poutine

Totally hear ya. As a vegetarian that Costa Rican diet doesn't scare me at all - but i know it would freak most people out lol. That said, I'm a pretty big slave to Tofurky products I need my mock meats.

Back to the cats/kittens though...some people can really be stupid.
Horses eat hay, cows graze on grass and kittens feast on mice or fish...or some type of meat. They can't survive on soybeans, pasta, and rice even when it's served with a big fat bowl of Kumbaya.

I never did met a kitten that knew how to cook soybeans, pasta, and rice for a meal . That poor kitty to have such a stupid owner and I hope the person had no kids .
