My 1yr. 9months golden stopped eating help !!!
Hi, I have a 1 year and 9 months old golden who has not been eating his food at all. This started couple months back but then he use to eat after sometime that day. But now he doesn't eat the dry food or the canned food. I took him to the vet he says he looks fine but still he prescribed some medication (he hates it we have to force the medication down his mouth). I am very worried about him i can clearly see he is getting skinnier and he has lost that energy he used to have now his energy comes in short bursts and then he quickly lies down and is somber. please help !!

Have you tried to change his food to something he may like?
Did the vet run any tests? What medication did he give your dog and what was it for?

i am not sure what test he ran, the medications he gave for the dog is for if there are for giving him the nutrients he need in a day they said they will call again to check on how he is doing but it is a struggle just to make him eat the medication. We did try changing the food from royal canine to beneful to blue buffalo, to natures choice but nothing works

Did they take an x ray to confirm if he has an obstruction? blood tests? stool tests? Your bill should indicate what they did and what for?
Have you tried to entice him/her to eat? There are lots of ways to get the meds into him. Try sticking it into a hotdog or a piece of cheese? Sometimes people will use the pill pockets for cats and they seem to work? Adding something stinky too might make him interested. Are you going back to the vets for a follow up?

How much food does he eat per day and how long has this been going on? How much weight loss has there been?
