Hi all

I am so glad I found this wonderful forum about pets. Our 2 dogs died this year. They were very elderly and they have left a huge hole in our hearts. I started checking pet and rescue forums and decided that I would like to adopt an elderly dog. And so now I have Rocky. He is a greyhound and GSD mix and he is so sweet. He is 7 years old so I imagine I won't have all that long with him but we will make the most of it. We are really enjoying each others company.

Welcome to pets.ca Solange and congratulation on the adoption ! You won't regret adopting a senior , believe me ! They are always so thankful and all they want is to love you and be loved. I should know , I adopted 4 of them , they're all at rainbow bridge now and I miss them dearly but I am so glad I had them in my life.

Can't wait to hear more about Rocky !

Welcome to the board, Solange! We'll need some pics of Rocky, of course, when you get a chance He sounds like a lovely boy!

Welcome to the board.

At 7 you hopefully have a few more years with him. No matter what, enjoy the time you have and I'm sure he's grateful for you adopting him and giving him a loving home.

We just recently adopted and lost a 14 yr old GSD mix to pancreatic cancer, but we don't regret doing it at all. She had a stable and loving home for the last few months of her life and she was happy. That's all that matters .
Elderly dogs are often overlooked by people and need homes the most. You did a good thing .
