The beauty of butter

Butter is a wonderful thing.

Pup covered in sap - rub sap with butter, comb through, wipe off. Sap gone.

Pup needs to take antibiotics, and manages to avoid the pill that was stuffed inside a piece of hotdog (but eats the hotdog anyway) and does this four times in a row. Avoid pill, eat hotdog. ... Next attempt: grind pill, mix with a bit of butter, let pup lick spoon, and voila, pill gone.

That's a good idea, Marcha. I usually use liverwurst or bradswurst to get the pill down without a big fuss. The meat is soft and usually sticks well to the pill and the dog/cat remains seemingly clueless about the missed opportunity to pitch a fit.

Cheez Whiz is our dog's favourite pill distribution method . I used to use peanut butter more but it tends to give Riley some interesting gas. Cheez Whiz also works great in a kong mixed in with whatever goodies of the day .

I never thought about butter for sap though, good tip!

I've got to try that on pine sap!! I've been using olive oil, but it's an expensive solution. I never thought of trying butter...or oleo, for that matter. Anyone know if oleo would work?
