Pet First Aid; Irony, help

So, I took a pet first aid class today and took Sasha with me. This was held in a "puppy day care/pet store", Sasha and one other dog we were there from 9am -3:30pm, my OCD doggie played ran and played some more. When I got her home she was limping I took a look at her rear legs and paws..the leather on her large pads was worn off!!! She just does not know when to stop. I have put some salve and gauze and bandaged them for now but what next?

I called the instructor and told her about this and she is going to talk to the owner of the daycare to see if this has happened before to any other dogs who attend this daycare. pbp

What kind of flooring is there in the areas Sasha was playing?

for Sasha & her sore paws

Make sure the pads are kept clean so there's no infection speedy healing

they had those squares that fit together, not sure if they are rubber or some sort of soft plastic, they are coloered, red and black and fit together like bricks but soft.

Those are generally quite easy on the feet.

Sasha just does not know when to stop, she was playing with a ball and toys that were being thrown so she did a lot of stop and go type of work. Do you know how long it takes for this to heal? The leather is totally worn off on both pads.

You should also try to trim the fur around her pads so the fur is not touching the wound area & potentially causing irritation. As for how long probably a couple of days to a week.

Thank you Breeze, Growler and Rainbow your help with this. I am happy to say that my injury prone labbie is on the road to recovery. I kept bandages on her feet (replacing twice a day) since Sunday, when I took them off this morning she is walking on the whole foot again, it looks like they are healing nicely. I am so glad that I have a fast healer since she can get herself into TROUBLE so easy. So for the next few days it will be short walks no running and NO chasing toys.
