Kittens Neutered - Too Active!

Well, my boys made it through their surgeries with flying colours. But the problem is that they're truly flying! They're feeling no pain and I can't get them to calm down. The aftercare suggests that they avoid rambunctious play for 10-14 days but these guys are just ripping through the condo. Any suggestions? Should I kennel them?

I wouldn't crate them. It is such an easy operation; other than occasionally feeling a bit dopey at the beginning, none of my boys have ever suffered from their snip. And since yours are so young, well, it's even less of an issue. Keep an eye on any excessive licking and let them to get on with it.
I'm taking a little female in tomorrow for her spay, whole different story; she has to stay overnight, might need pain meds, and the incision has to be watched carefully.
Females take the brunt, again

I agree with badger. The boys are a snap to get done. I have had quite a few done in the last year and not one had any lasting ill effects. Do they have stitches or just a little cut? Are they licking a great deal? A little bit isn't bad. It's normal. But if they are licking excessively then you may want to consider a cone. Other than that if they are eating, using litter box, and you don't see any unusual behaviour, let them be.

If it makes you feel more at ease then you could crate them at night. I do for the first night or two just so I don't have to worry all night.

They've got those internal stitches that dissolve. Zeus is licking a little more than Ukko but it's not a lot. They don't seem phased by this at all. I'm pretty sure the painkillers have numbed them to any pain. I have to give them another dose in the morning.

What pain meds are they on. And why?

Sorry for being nosy but I would be more concerned about giving them unneeded medication than I would them running around. Not one of mine had any meds. Not even the girls. Although my last gal may be getting some but that's another story.

My vet told me that a castration is such a simple operation that in most cases the kitten/cat hardly needs any anesthetic at all. It is done and over with so quickly they don't have to be under very long. The younger the kitty, the better. Your two are still really young. They also heal very very fast. I know my guys only had one little stitch in each sac. No problems. Some vets don't even give them stitches for such a small incision.
