Natures variety
At present I use Canadie as a suppliment when I am away and others have to feed, as opposed to Raw. I have been pondering switching to Natures Variety instesd, but, it is too high in Protien for a Large breed dog.
My Newf boy, Lolly-pup, is a year old now; At what age does this stop applying to him? My Bernese girl, Belle, is 6 months; Is a bernese considered a Large Breed dog? Does this even matter if it is not the primary food source? Angie J |

IMO, you should worry more about the calcium levels of the food. Neither doggy is done developing, so the calcium levels should still be low (ideally lower than or around 1%).
At 1.41% it's a bit high, so it would depend on the calcium amounts in the raw... |

if your base diet is balanced (whatever you feed
) then i wouldn't worry about any temporary additions you feed, as long as that food is of a good quality of course. dogs have an amazing ability to balance nutrition over time.
