Hairballs

Hello

I have a 3 year old cat, we got him from a rescue, perfect little guy so friendly. I have a question about hairballs, i am not complaining and from what i have heard i am glad we don't have this problem.
My question is, JD never gets hairballs, is this a condition that older cats get ?
We don't feed him any special food to prevent it so thats not the answer

Dan

I'm sorry but I don't know what you're asking...
Are your cats vomiting up hair balls? and you're looking for a cure? Or are you looking for preventative measures to try to avoid them?

I have three cats and only one of them has regular hair balls. It can be something that happens to any cat, any age, any hair length. It's my short haired girl that has the most hair balls and I have a long haired cat as well. Most cats are able to pass any hair that they may consume though their system and out in their stools.

I have 3 shorthaired males 11,8 and 4 yrs old, one(Vinnie) will on occasion vomit a hairball,it's not a big deal as long as it comes out.

I have a long haired cat and a short haired cat and both of them very rarely get a hairball.

I don't feed them any of the so-called "special hairball formula" cat foods.

And I also don't comb them as often as I should.
