Im new here
Hi, my name is Kathleen and I am new here. I will introduce my furbabies I have Monty hes a male german pointer and i have sax a dsh cat. I will get pictures asap. I will tell you how I got Monty. I was going to the grocerey stare and I seen someone beating and hitting this poor little dog
 , he was about 4 months at that time, I went up to the guy and asked him to knock it off before i call the cops. He said do you think you can do better here take him, he guy handed me his leash and left. So thats how I got monty. I got Sax from the animal aid about 5 years ago. So thats my family

The vet has said he was a german pointer,
 I hate it when anilmals get abused and I cant stand seeing people throwing away thier animals. I have always adopted from a shelter, and thanks for the welcoming

He looks black, pretty rare here as the AKC and CKC bench shows don't recognize the blacks.
That's wierd that a black would end up in the hands of an abuser. They have only been brought from Germany recently and by serious hunting dog breeders and trialers. The dogs are registered with the Deutsch Kurzhaar club. Unlike the CKC/AKC regs that simply require registered parents the DK's require parentage AND pass conformation evaluation AND pass hunting ability tests (Pointing, tracking, water work, fur, feather....)AND temperament test. In order to be ALLOWED to breed one the standards are even higher.

Well I talked to my vet and he said the same thing you did db7. But he also said that the black fur isnt uncommon for his breed of dog. So i have just learned something new today
