Cat wont eat only drinks water and vomits

We have this cat that looks like she was a domestic cat more than 5 years ago and someone abandoned her. I could tell that she was domestic because she was spayed and declawed. Its been over 4 years she lives in front of our home under the stairs(she did not want to go inside the house) Now since last week she came inside the house and she likes to sleeps on the couch. Its been 3 days she does not want to eat.. only drinks a bit of water and vomits at least once a day. I am planing to bring her to the vet on Monday. Can you please tell me what that could be? I feel so sad because she is a very nice cat and had a bad life living alone outside.:sad:

Thank you for taking her inside Monkas. Sometimes that simple gesture of kindness can mean "the world" to an animal.

Vomitting can mean anything from nervousness to a serious illness. Your Vet visit is the best thing you can for her.

I'm glad you could get her inside & to a vet.

Have you tried dry catfood, canned catfood, boiled chicken breast, canned salmon, tuna, plain meat babyfood with no onions, cooked ground beef?

She needs to eat something preferably now. A cat that goes more than 48hrs without food is in serious risk of developing liver disease among others.

To begin with - thank you for rescuing a lost pet. They will be forever grateful.

Second - 3 days of not eating in a cat is an emergency and should not be taken lightly. Cats are not designed not to eat every day and at 3 days of not eating can have changes and inflammation of the liver. If a cat does not want to eat then it is serious.

What it could be? More history and a physical exam would be needed to narrow the list - probably followed by a minimum data base of: blood work, urinalysis and radiographs (X-Rays). These tests will look for: metabolic and endocrine disorders (kidney disease, liver disease, diabetes, hyperthyroid, etc...), toxic causes, foreign bodies (string, rubber, etc...), blood diseases and infections.

Please let us know how it goes at the veterinarian's office.

the vet said she is half already in coma. her pulse is 65 and he gave her 24 to 32 hours to live. please we have 2 hours to make our decission to put her to sleep or leave her die at home. The vet also said her mouth smells very bad and she has something on the tongue and he also said she maight have Aids. She cant not walk anymore. I asked him if there is anything we can do to help her and he said there is a very very small chance and no garantee that they can do something. I am 90% thinking to put her to sleep. :sad: Please give me an advice as soon as possible.

I am so sorry you have to make this decision. I can't even offer any advice, just my prayers for you and this kitty.

Did the vet not do a blood test? It's a pity you couldn't get a diagnosis, to help you make the decision. If you take that small chance she could recover, her treatment is likely to be very expensive - IV antibiotics, nutrition, etc. If that would be a problem for you, then I would let her go rather than have her die alone. Please go in with her so she has someone with her who cares at the end. Poor girl

Monkas. What a tough spot you are in.
I can only tell you what I would do in your situation. Given the vet has said 24 to 32 hours with a slim chance of surviving I would put the poor soul to rest. Why prolong her agony? I am sure she is suffering.
I know the decision is hard. Ultimately it is one you have to make.

thanks for everyone for your support. we will bring her today to the vet and put her to rest. the only thing is is it ok if we leave her there kiss her and say good bye to her and then leave? i am not sure if i will be able to watch.. can someone who experianced that tell me what should i do and if she will suffer from the anasthesia and the neddle?i think if i watch i will have heartatack although i want to be with her at that moment.

My vet gives a relaxant first. They hardly feel the needle. And then another one which stops the heart. Before the vet even withdraws the second needle, she will have gone.
You are doing her a final kindness.
Maybe someone else could go in with her in your place. It's just that the vets can do this with their eyes closed (except in a few, exceptional cases) and it's quite impersonal. If you are there, she will feel it, trust me.

My little princess is in heaven.:sad:.......

We went to the vet and I and my mother in law were all the time with the cat until she took her final breath. We talked to her and kissed her all the time.
I think it was a good decision because the cat was suffering and choking with some jelly greenish liquid coming out of her mouth and there were also some pink spots on the carpet probably blood from her mouth.
I am so sad because she was abandoned many years ago and lived under our house stairs for about 4 years and she did not want to come in the house even though it was so cold during the winters. We also made a house for her under the stairs but still..(I also have 4 more cats that live indoor and they had no problem communicating with the outdoor princess). She was so smart realizing that she is getting sick and somehow she came in and was with us for a week. The last day she couldn't even move but when we go next to her and when she hears our voices she tried to react but all she could is move a bit her head. Her One eye was closed and the other one was half opened and some liquid was coming out of her eyes too.

Now my princes hero is in a better place. I am sorry for the confusing sentences and the errors in my writing but I my brain does not work now.
