Beef
This isn't news unfortunately. 4-D beef does make its way to dogfood. Heck it's all racing greyhounds live off until they are adopted out when their career is done.
Not all dogfood uses 4-D beef though, so it's worth doing the research rather than just assuming all food is the same. |

I actually don't feed my cats any type of red meat. Occasionally lamb gets slipped in but usually not. I am a vegetarian myself, and so buying from good brands where the poultry is free range and the fish is fresh caught and whatnot makes me feel better when feeding my pets. I can not STAND the smell of ANY type of red meat though. Chicken and turkey smell fine to me so I mostly feed them that. But beef has a horrible smell that makes me wanna puke.
And I also don't feed them beef because the re-calls as well. I just don't trust beef it scares me.

Exactly.....therefore one should only purchase brands that use human grade ingredients. And, then there is the ongoing debate over the quality of the Merrick brand because of the rendering plant owned by Garth Merrick. |

Here's an interesting article about dog-food. Makes you think twice before feeding kibble ever again. (Even the better brands........ )
