Unhappy Need help with my new kittens

:sad: Ive 2 baby kittens that r 3 weeks old. For some reason each one of them has a eye that is running clear liquid. And it is shutting them. I have been taking warm water and cleaning them out. What else can I do for them. Im unable to take them to the vet at this time.

Wow, only three weeks old? What happened with their mommy? They are far too young to be away from her....

As far as the eye problem, could you just call and talk to a vet atleast? These babies do need to see a vet......

Well, having just read her profile, I'm a little confused about whether or not mom is with the kittens. It's a little unlcear. Her bio says she has 2 cats and a dog, but under "type of pets" she lists 3 names - which I'm presuming belong to the 2 cats and dog - and then says she also has 2 kittens? So is that 4 cats total, or are the 2 kittens in the post the same as the 2 cats in the bio? Also, her bio says she has 3 birds, but the types of pets indicates 4?

"Biography:
Im 52 years old I love amimals I have 2 cats a dog and 3 birds, and a fish tank. I love life. My pets r my children for my children r gone from home."

"Type of Pet(s):
9 snowball,bobby,presious,and i have 2 baby kittens, and 4 birds that r not name "

Maybe, but I'm still confused about whether or not momma cat is around.

Nkysweetlips, could you clarify that for us? Because 3 weeks is way too young to be away from Mom. Besides, they'll definitely need vet care very soon, even if it isn't for the eye issue you're having now.

Kittens with oozing eyes

Hi there, I just stumbled on this board and saw this post and just had to register and respond to your post. Almost one year ago we found a stray 3 week old kitten, that was in pretty bad shape. Her eyes were also oozing and we took her to the vet. He explained that she had a respiratory infection and that it manifested itself in oozing eyes. Apparently there are many different infections, some even life threatening and most stay with the poor little cat for the rest of his/her life. He prescribed Fucithalmic viscous drops, which cleared up the sticky eyes after several days. Some days her eyes were so sticky that she could not even open them. Today she is a happy mini cat...2 lbs 3 oz. She still makes funny sounds breathing, but her eyes are very bright and clear. Good Luck!

lol

Type of Pet(s):
9 snowball,bobby,presious,and i have 2 baby kittens, and 4 birds that r not name

She has 9 pets in total is what I gather from that statement.

As to the kittens, if you have so many other pets, you really should be taking them to the vet as you are running the risk of infecting your other pets. If it's a cost issue, just take one of the two and ask the vet to kindly prescribe for the second kitten.

Sounds like cat flu or a kitty cold (not really a cold but a virus) - they should be seen by a vet asap b/c that type of infection in kittens that young can be deadly. If one has it, they may all become infected. I'd go to a vet right away and obtain the proper medications.

organic food

try giving them lysine mashed up in their food I have had the same problem with my cats we brought three home from the same litter that were a couple weeks old and very sick one died after a couple weeks. I recomend organic food and lysine. If I had known then what I know now about non organic food I would have three little angels instead of two. The organic food carries all the vitimins the kitty's need that if they were wild would be getting from the grass and rodents. The comercial cat food has been found to be made of rotting meat not good enough for human consumption, ground up uthinized animals, steriods, and anitbiotics (not the good kind) heres another site you should check out if you want to know more http://www.iamscruelty.com/
any ways I'm off on a rant now the point i was getting to was to use organic cat food and lysine250mg a day (maby less for little kittens)
let me know if it works
