How Come?

Every spring I get a sparrow that would just love to call this house home, it sits on the perch for about a week and sings and sings to get a mate interested. Sometimes another sparrow will come and go inside the house for an inspection and eventually fly off. This poor little one gets shunned by all the females (I assume this one is a male).
Why can't I get a family raised in my bird house? It's placed in a pear tree, not a lot of action from us around the tree. I want a bird family

Such a beautiful boy!

Is the house nice and clean.... those silly females like men with clean houses
I don't know if it will help your boy get a "date" but I've heard that leaving dryer lint, string and other good nesting materials around helps out the birdies.

Yep, it's clean inside. It has been up for four years but never had a family nesting in it. I am going to take some of Lukka's fur and other such stuff and stick it in the bark of the tree and see if that helps.
