Hazel - it's a litter of puppies we've placed in a foster home. One of them was adopted by a vet tech. last week and she was a bit worried because her pup had dandruff so she had the vet take a look and that's when they discovered this lovely little creature that I never knew existed! They're all being treated with Advantage Multi and apparently they don't have alot of mites, so it should be easy to control....
I was worried because I was reading all about it on the net and boy oh boy, there is a bit too much info on there - it can really freak you out! Especially since two of the pups are leaving for their new homes on Sunday, I wanted to make sure they were OK to go. The vet did say that after a treatment, the adults die within 2 days, so the next step is to retreat in a month to get the new ones and hopefully that should do it! I just wanted to know if anyone here has had an experience with this mite...
