I love my lil' digi-cam. I have an Olympus Stylus 410 4.0 megapixels. It also takes 20 second video clips.
I wouldn't get anything less that 4.0 megapixels.
4.O megapixels is good enough for print and web. The higher the pixels, the sharper the print quality.
Another very important thing to look for is Lithium Ion batteries. Regular batteries tend to go quick and often. The Lithium Ion batteries last longer and recharging them is much more economical.
My only complaint is the delay in the focus time that babyrock1 mentioned.
