There can be a pretty wide range of prices for dentals, but you have to find out what's included. Cheaper isn't always better. Pre-op blood work is essential, but there are other considerations that add to the cost, like the type of anesthetic used (isoflurane or sevoflurane), pre and maybe post op IV fluids, blood pressure monitoring, x-rays, pain medication, antibiotics, etc.
I paid just over $800 a few years ago for my senior kitty to have a dental and 3 teeth removed (one being a rather complicated canine extraction). It was worth every penny. He just had a cleaning about 10 months ago that cost a little less than $500.
