I love that wild meadow pic. The red plant there looks like devils paintbrush. A plant I haven't seen since my parents sold their cottage. I would keep that as a wildflower meadow and like someone else said, just cut it once it stops flowering. No reason why you can't just mow it or use a weed whacker once the flowers have stopped. It's too pretty to cut now.
