The bulbils in a tiny sandwich bag with a little potting soil/peat moss/vermiculite/perlite, OR gently move away soil from the bulb and rip off whole pieces of scales. The scales have to be whole, including the little bit that's part of the root area (basal plate). A bulb the size of your palm will safely endure about 10 scales removed, but any more may cause it to not bloom the next season.

ok... could I send you bulbils in soil in a ziplock? Is that allowed, by Canada Post? Maybe we could do a little trade???
