Until a couple of weeks ago I had two cats. My little one had to be euthanised on Dec. 26th. For whatever reason, from the very beginning, she would wake me up a few times through the night. Never for a long time; just for a brief purr and contact. And for whatever reason, I loved it. It said to me that I was loved and that all was well with the world. She didn't bother anyone else through the night; just me. She did this for over 14 years, and I'd give anything to have her waking me up through the night still.

Saying this does not minimize the disruption you are experiencing; it's just another perspective from someone who didn't mind the through-the-night interruptions.
