Kathryn, it's not your fault. It can happen so quickly. I had a stray with kittens, at three weeks one of them just suddenly started screaming and by the time I took him to the vet, it was too late for them to be able to save him. And the thing was that he went down so fast. I'd been weighing them and they were all gaining weight, fine the night before, and then just gone. It's not that you missed some sign of his problems, you tried to feed him and you gave him vet care. Your tried very hard.
