with the pregnancy i would suggest flying.
i drove from northern ontario to nova scotia last summer with the dog in the front seat and cats in a crate in the back! the dog did awesome. that cats not so much. believe it or not one of the cats actually held going to the bathroom for the whole drive (which was over 24 hours straight driving). had lots of pit stops for the dog to pee and poo though.
