Awwww... I miss having ratties. I gave up trying to keep them when I got larger and larger animals. The ratties were suffering because I couldn't spend as much time with them out of their cages. The rest of the beasts got along fine, but I didn't want to chance taking the ratties out with cats and dogs around.
I had ratties the whole time I was growing up. They are so awesome. My first pair only went in their cage when I was at school. The rest of the time, they lived on my shoulder (or my head). They even slept with me. I miss them so much. Both lived over 4 years!
My grandmother was a little eccentric. She had a wide-brimmed hat that she wore whenever she went out. There was always a rattie sitting in the brim.
