I'm with with Longblades as usual on this one.
Cats don't fake it in my experience.
If anything they hide their pain versus exaggerating their pain.
My first instinct is that the cat has some sort of sprain ( or worse ) that occasionally gets aggravated through jumpring.
Hope that may help and yup a vet visit is a good idea!
