Not silly at all,we've had that question before,if you've never had a cat before,how would you know???Anyway,it's good you asked before trying
As for cat-shampoo,they also sell cat-tooth-paste and floss,that should tell you something
My vet actually asked me if I floss my cats teeth,I said SURE TWICE A DAY I don't think she believed me
