Dogs that are not fixed that are entering reproductive stages get stressed about finding a mate. That is their goal in life and is determined by surging hormones. If you eliminate the hormones, you eliminate all the stressful behaviors that are related to reproduction, like marking territory, some aggression against competition, and the constant search for mates.
