Sounds like you had a great ride! Congrats! You managed to gently show your mare that you are in charge and that it's safe to rely on your decisions. She needed you to prove to her that you are her leader and you can be trusted. I'm so glad to hear you used your head and prompted her accordingly to get her to accept your choice instead of her own. You should be proud of yourself :queen: Ya done good

The only reccommendation I have is that you carry a jump bat with you next time and encourage her either behind the girth or on her rump to move forward. This should alleviate the rearing or popping up you experienced.
