In my experience with ticks, the site from which a tick gets removed can stay quite irritated for some time. I removed a tick from our dog's chest last summer and there was a hard red lump that remained for a few months. Also, I pulled a tick off my partner's leg last summer too, and she still has a spot there that continues to get scabby and red on and off, and her doctor said that's pretty normal for a tick bite. Keep it clean and maybe put some hydrogen peroxide on it, and make sure it's not infected, but I wouldn't worry too much.
