Splenectomy in cat with cancer - Answered by Dr. Lee
I went and got a second opinion and an ultra-sounds from another vet about my cat's possible cancer. The results showed that his spleen was about 4-5 times bigger than it is supposed to be. He said a splenectomy is needed, but I wanted to find out all I can about it. I have an appointment set up to speak with the vet and I have been searching online as well, but I decided to give it a shot on here as well. Has anyone else's pet had to get a spenectomy? If so I'd love to hear about it. What are the risks? How will it effect my cat not having a spleen and being his age (9 going on 10)? Thanks for your help!
