Crabapple for sure

I am sure it's a crabapple tree. As with many trees, there are more than one type. Flowers will B in the spring. Best idea for making it not fruit....well.... U will need to spray a dormant spray on the flowers in spring to kill some of the flowers and lessen the production of berries. That is NOT good for the tree mind you. You can get "inside" the tree canopy and cut out as many smaller branches to open it up and make what is there stronger...be sure to NEVER remove more than 1/4 of the tree at any given season or you risk killing the tree.
Hope that helps! I'm an avid gardener/Lanndscaper by trade and I also work in a greenhouse!
