Ice has such a deadly beauty! We get maybe one ice storm a year, but it's usually pretty minor. I hate ice.

Lucky you had a wood-burning stove. Despite the increase in insurance premium, we're likely going to get one soon. We lose power pretty frequently out here, even without ice storms.
